Nobody Loves You. Say: "Thank You, Nobody."

This was originally submitted as an entry to the SCP-CN Short Contest themed 'speechless.'

Thanks to Roufhous, whose (now deleted) article gave me the primary idea.

Thanks to carolynn w, stormbreath, and Yossipossi for coding references.

spoiler alert?

I was obsessed with the implied plurality of Alex Thorley in using the pronoun 'they/them' and the wordplay of the indefinite pronoun 'Nobody.' So I did a little experiment:

• All 'they/them' pronouns were applied to Alex Thorley only.
• No pronoun was used when referring to Nobody.

I'm not trying to convey anything too serious—just a little nerdy fun. But watch carefully, there is a story going on.

Something more important: I had always wanted to write a story featuring Alex Thorley and Nobody. _{Yes I ship them.}
